If the Lord is for me Who can be Against Me?

We can all take much comfort from this promise! We must really try and understand that God is always in control, even when we go outside of His protection. He allows all things, sometimes to teach us lessons and sometimes to make us more like Jesus.

The LORD truly is on our side. Man can only harm us emotionally if we allow it. Thank you Jesus for this reminder:

Psalm 118:6 “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”

I am learning more and more that when I am feeling hurt or offended by others, I can just lift the others and the situation up to the Lord and He always, always takes care of it. Sometimes it is to teach me to be a better friend, and sometimes it is to teach me that maybe I should not be so quick to call some friend. The only true friend we will ever need is Jesus.

Oh the Love of God!

Oh, yes the wonderful love of God is way beyond human comprehension. Every time I am led by the Spirit to fast and pray for others and I think I am being such a huge blessing to them; alas Jesus presses upon my heart the fact that He heard and answered all according to His will. What peace follows. Not only peace, but the humbleness of realizing that not only did God hear my prayers, He also blessed me with amazing joy. This is the joy all God’s children experience when we just simply obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit, such as when we lead lost souls to Salvation. I guess what I am trying to say is that when we let the Lord use us to accomplish His will, in our minds we think more of the blessing we are doing for others. Then God goes and sends the filling of his Holy Spirit to bless us as well. Wow! What a blessing that He would use us lowly humans, even though He surely does not ‘need’ us to accomplish His purpose, but He loves to bless us. Well, enough said. It is so very hard to put these blessings of a joyful heart, that only God can give, into human words. I was not looking for a blessing for me, but I got one anyway!

I just want to thank you Lord!

Where Would I Want to Go?

Yes, where else would I even want to go but to the Lord? There is absolutely nowhere else we can go for refuge and strength. I really wonder how lost people make it through trials without Him. Enjoy Emmylou’s rendition of a great old hymn!

PSALM 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

The Greatness of the Lord

Back in Solomon’s days, the temple priests sang a different Psalm for each day of the week. Oh that we would worship our LORD each and every day and come to know Him more! For He is INDEED WORTHY!

The Temple Priests’ Psalm for Mondays:

Psalm 48:

1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

6 Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

The security that belongs to those who place their faith in the Lord is celebrated in this psalm. God’s people believed that Jerusalem, “the city of our God,” could never be conquered because God’s presence would always protect it (Psalm 48:1). The city of Jerusalem, however, fell to the Babylonians in 586 B.C., at which time, God’s people learned through bitter experience the importance of a faith in Him that reflects itself in moral and ethical living. Unfortunately, as we observe the United States of America today, we must prepare ourselves for dire circumstances headed our way because His people have allowed the things of God to be trod upon and discarded like an old shoe.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Age to Age You’re Still the Same “El Shaddai”

I am blessed every time I “listen” to this beautiful adoration of our LORD. I must say, the absolute best rendition I have ever heard was when my oldest daughter and her then best friend sang it as a special at our church youth camp in 1989. Such sweet and loving voices they had.

Please enjoy Amy Grant singing it:

The Work of the Holy Spirit – Part 3 – What He Will Do

* He will guide the Believer.

Acts 8:29 “Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.” (I suggest you read the whole chapter.)

Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

* He will give assurance of Salvation.

Romans 8:14-17 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”

* He will be the Believer’s teacher.

1 John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

* He will intercede for us.

Romans 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

* He will comfort us.

John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”

* He will sanctify us.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 “But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:”

* He will accomplish regeneration in us.

John 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

* He will make us aware of our sin.

John 16:8 ” And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

* He convicts and convinces us of the truth of the Gospel.

John 16:8, 13, 14 “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”; “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”; “He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

* He will empower us to witness for the LORD.

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Acts 4:31 “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”

* He will destroy the power of sin in our lives.

Romans 8:2-6 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

* He will lead and even control our lives. His leading will be obvious by our fruits.

Romans 8:13-16 “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

Galatians 5:16-25 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

* He will distribute gifts to be used in the Kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

The Doctrine of Jesus – Part 4

The Deity of Jesus Christ – Part 3

http://rapturewatcher.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/shining-glory-of-jesus.jpg?w=610F. Jesus Christ is Omnipotent (All Powerful)

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Matthew 28:18 ” And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

John 17:2 “As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.”

Revelation 1:8 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 19:6-7 “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”

G. Jesus Christ is Omniscient (All Knowing)

John 16:30 “Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.”

John 2:24-25 “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”

Colossians 2:2-3 “That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Matthew 12:25 “And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:”

Luke 6:8 “But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.”

There is only one thing that Jesus does not know. By His own willing subjection to the Father, He has left to His Father only to know the time of His return for His bride, the church: Mark 13:32 “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” Although His Father did allow Jesus to share the signs we are to notice as the time draws nigh, He keeps the exact timing to Himself.

Jesus is omnipotent in that He can do anything, and He even has the ability to limit His knowledge in this one area. Think of it this way – if He could not limit Himself, He would not be all powerful. By not knowing when He will return for His Bride, the Church, Jesus sets an example for all sons to be obedient to their fathers in regards to choosing a wife and the timing for marriage. If this example were followed in our families today, there would be much less divorce. Wait for your father’s blessing and permission! You will be truly blessed in the end.

https://i0.wp.com/farm4.static.flickr.com/3268/3140467139_752f8090a7.jpgH. Jesus is Omnipresent (All and Ever Present)

1 Corinthians 1:2 “Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their’s and our’s:”

Ephesians 1:22-23 “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Matthew 28:20 “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

John 3:13 “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.”

Jesus is transcendent to both time and place. He can be everywhere at one time. He can be sitting on the right hand of the Father on High (Acts 2:33), and dwelling in our hearts (Ephesians 3:17) all at the same time! Also know that satan, God’s enemy, does not have these powers!

I. Jesus Chris is Immutable (Unchangeable)

Hebrews 1:11-12 “They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.”

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
